Hello! Congratulations on taking this next step in improving your well-being! I’m excited that you have chosen me to help you with this journey! I appreciate the effort and resolve it takes to start improving your mental health and want you to know that I will be there for you every step of the way!
My name is Amanda Weilhammer, and I have been working as Mental Health Counselor for 5 years. I obtained my Master’s in Counseling and Counselor Education from IUPUI in May 2015 and completed the additional coursework to obtain my license in Mental Health counseling the same year. I have experience working with children ages 5-18 as well as adults of all ages. I provided mental health services to children and adolescents at Fairbanks Addictions Treatment and the Franklin Township School Corporation, and for adults at St. Francis Behavioral Health through my Master Level internships through IUPUI. I then began my career working for a private practice in Franklin Indiana providing Intensive Outpatient addictions group treatment to adults and was then led to providing individual and group counselling services to children ages 5-10 at Brookview Elementary through Community Health Network’s school-based counseling program. After my time at these locations, I started providing mental health services (both group and individual) to adults ages 18+ at Families First, where I continue to work part-time presently. At Families First, I provide individuals with both addictions treatment and work with survivors of trauma. I was also able to become EMDR trained while working at Families First to better assist my clients’ recovery journeys. Through all my experiences, I have worked with a wide range of individuals from all socioeconomic and educational backgrounds successfully.
At Renewed Hope Counseling, I am interested in taking my experience and expanding it even further to help individuals who would like to address their mental health concerns. I have experience working with addictions, depression and anxiety, ADHD, adjustment disorders, trauma, and PTSD. Currently, I am interested in accepting referrals for adolescents ages 16+ and adults 18+. If you are seeking individual treatment for addictions, I only accept referrals from individuals who are currently in an active recovery program and are seeking additional individual treatment to maintain their sobriety. I am available to provide services various morning and afternoon hours during the week as well as evening hours on Thursday, and a wide variety of hours on Fridays. Currently, I am credentialed through certain private insurances and can provide more information about that over the phone/email.
